We're OK!!

To all my friends and family:

We're okay in Eva, which is just outside of Cullman, AL (they were hit bad by the tornadoes!) 'Bama Girl and Fiance' were not in Tuscaloosa...Thank God! So much ruin and so many people lost...not only in T-town, but all over North Alabama! The tornadoes passed over us, but hit all around. William and I were home, but safe. There is no electricity, phones, or internet (we're at a McDonald's in Hartselle (they have electricity) David has come in from Ohio with a generator, gas and food. My sister, Donna and brother-in-law, Woody (the ones working in Iraq) got in touch with us and they had a generator also. So, we have our fridge and some light and the radio.

I hope all my friends in Alabama are all okay and safe. As soon as we have power and internet, I'll be checking on you...'specially the ones in Attalla, Huntsville, and North Alabama...you know who you are!

Love to all my family in Louisiana and Iraq!!

Later,

Debbie

  2. Debbie, I kept thinking about you and your family all day yesterday! Thank goodness you are all okay! I wondered if Bama girl was in Tuscaloosa ... glad to hear she wasn't.
We are safe here too! Storms just went north and south of us. We do have debris in our yard blown from somewhere.
Glad to know you are all safe! Take care!
    Hugs,
    Donna

I just knew she was there when they said it was exams week! I am so relieved to "hear" from you! We came out of the storm w/ no damage. Counting our blessings! I can check facebook from my phone but not blogs. Take care and talk to you soon!

  6. I have been stopping by every blog that I come across that has posted about the tornadoes.

I am glad you are safe and I am glad that your daughter and fiance didn't
We live in Dadeville, on Lake Martin. Lot's of devastation all around us, but thankfully, we were spared.

I have family in Attalla, Gallant, B'ham, and Huntsville. Everyone is fine.

    Blessings,
    Rhonda

  7. Debbie,
All of my family and I are okay - we had minor damage to our home, and we were without power just like you until late today. I am in Dallas with my best friend-we had this planned for a month and flew out of Nashville Saturday. I will be home on Tuesday. I hope you have power already or will have it soon. Today my son in law you met -fed over 1000+ people in the parking lot of Chili's with some help from our church and friends. When I get home -I am purging for those who have lost so much -if I can find someone as big as me who needs them-jk
I want to do something because I have been so blessed.
Still hoping to meet you-I have a box with your name on it.
God bless and thanks for checking on me.

  8. Oh Debbie~ I'm so glad you all are alright! You were the first person I thought of when I heard about the tornado in Tuscaloosa... I couldn't remember how far you were from there.
We came through fine, although down the road in Knoxville there was quite a bit of damage... my Dad's roof will have to be replaced and he has trees down all over his place. But he is fine.
So sad for all the devastation.... but so happy to hear from you!

  11. I know where that McDonald's in Hartselle is - took my kiddos there back when they were little and we lived in Cullman.

I'm so thankful you and your family are ok. Gosh, can you believe what has happened to Tuscaloosa and so many other places in our state? It just breaks my heart.

Again, I am just SO glad that you are fine.
