So much stuff, so little room!

DSC01641

This is all I'm carrying...my purse and the bag!

I'm checking the bag, hope the airlines doesn't charge $15.00.  But, I checked on the website and it says the 1st bag fee doesn't begin until August 18th.  (and I hope it doesn't weigh more than 40 lbs!...or they will charge!)  I just don't feel like lugging it around the Denver airport when I change planes!

I'll be leaving at 7:30 tomorrow morning, which means I need to leave here by 6:00am...which means I have to get up by 4:00 am (I need to wash my hair!)

Speaking of hair...DSC01637

'Bama Girl was tired of being blonde!

So...Ta Da!

Don't worry, I'm a professional hairstylist...I know what I'm doing!

The color really makes her eyes pop.  People are always asking "Are those your real eyes"?  Well, yes!  Duh!

As for the professional hairstylist...I quit working in salons about 5 years ago.  Too much drama...too many drama queens!  I could tell some hair-raising stories!  ha ha!

I'll try (emphasis on try) to blog and post some pictures while on the road, but I can't promise anything...we're taking it as it comes.  No agenda, no plans....gasp!  (That's really hard for little ol' organized me!)  David want me to be relaxed and not so stressed out.  (It stresses me out to not have any plans....arghhh!)

So, I hope you all have a wonderful and stress-free week!  I'm going to try to.

The End...

DSC01630

I'm finished and so is Chance!

Well, almost. The lighting is the only thing left to do and that will have to wait until David comes home. (Ohhhh, I forgot about painting the outside of the house...darn!)

The only rooms I haven't shown are the master bath and bedroom and the flooring in the living room.

Looking through the mirror, you can see the tile.

My bedroom. No pictures are hung yet. Kinda minimal right now! I'll get right to that! Ha!

The floor!

So...I guess you're all glad that's over. I am!

Sunday, I'll be leaving for Wyoming. David and I will be doing the tourist thing on the way home. I'll use his laptop and try to keep in touch. We'll be going through Colorado, Texas, Louisiana and more. While in Louisiana, we'll stop and visit my brothers. Meanwhile, I've got a lot of appointments this week, errands to run, and packing. So, I may not be able to post as much as I'd like. However, I'll try to check in on all of yours!

Think Positive, think positive...

Honestly people, I'm trying.

My carpet did not come in yesterday, nor did the last of the tile.  I think I'm being very patient.  (For a redhead!) The first time it came in, it was the wrong color, but I re-ordered it...in a different color and they upgraded it to the most expensive they have in that line...so I was happy.  It is suppose to come in today...hmmmm we'll see!

The reason I'm trying so hard to get all this done, is because David called last night.  The job in Wyoming is to be finished the last week of July.  I'm flying up there and we'll drive the company truck home.  Do the sightseeing thing.  Spend about a week together.  Alone.  No kids.  The first time in 22 years.  Can you say "Honeymoon"?  Woohoo!

He also said that there is a possibility he may be on a job in Tuscaloosa.  Perfect!  He's not worked in Alabama in....I don't know the last time!  That means both him and 'Bama Girl will be in the same place at the same time!  And...it's closer to Auburn Guy.  So, all's good there!

Now, for the kicker!  I just got my braces off!  Yeah, kinda late in life, but better later than never.  Anyway, I had the braces on a year, then had jaw surgery, then braces back on for another year.  To finish everything up, I had to have a bridge made...but first a root canal.  Okay, did that.  3 weeks ago.  Well...that tooth is hurting and my jaw is swelling!  How can that be?  So, gotta go back!  See me jumping for joy?

Anyway, this post was a ramble and a rant.  I'm ready for good times!  I want to sew, quilt, anything but remodeling and root canals!

I hope you all have a great and productive day...I will (thinking positive!)

PS: How do you like my new page?  'Bama Girl did it.  Cute, huh?  So me!

Me, too!

The following pictures are for David and my family in Louisiana.  But...ya'll are more than welcome to look!  I just didn't want to bore you anymore!

The well is dry...

Not really! Just today. I've really got nothing to talk about and I'm (hopefully) going to be really busy this week finishing up with the remodeling...is there really an end? So, I'm posting this and hope you try it, it's pretty accurate! Wow, I really use the word really a real lot!

What Debbie Means

You are balanced, orderly, and organized. You like your ducks in a row.You are powerful and competent, especially in the workplace.People can see you as stubborn and headstrong. You definitely have a dominant personality.

(I AM NOT STUBBORN or HEADSTRONG! I'm just always right!)

You are friendly, charming, and warm. You get along with almost everyone. You work hard not to rock the boat. Your easy going attitude brings people together. At times, you can be a little flaky and irresponsible. But for the important things, you pull it together.

(Flaky? I'm flaky? What?)

You are full of energy. You are spirited and boisterous. You are bold and daring. You are willing to do some pretty outrageous things.Your high energy sometimes gets you in trouble. You can have a pretty bad temper at times.

(What? What bad temper? Me?)

You tend to be pretty tightly wound. It's easy to get you excited... which can be a good or bad thing. You have a lot of enthusiasm, but it fades rather quickly. You don't stick with any one thing for very long. You have the drive to accomplish a lot in a short amount of time. Your biggest problem is making sure you finish the projects you start.

(Okay, hubby get up off that floor and quit laughing! I'm finishing the remodel, ok? Ok? OK? And I'll finish that quilt...er afghan...um landscape project later!)

Sneak Peek

Got my fridge, stove, dishwasher and microwave in. By in, I don't mean installed. But it soon will be. The problem was, the delivery men do not install dishwashers or over-the-range microwaves. Was I suppose to know this? Free installation means free installation! So...after a few unladylike threats (such as "if you don't install these, you can come pick it all up from my front yard!) the 'Big Orange Box' will be coming Monday, Tuesday at the latest to put them in.

Just a quick peek:

OLD

NEW!

Now I've got to learn how to use it...it is smooth top, has two ovens and is radiant and convection. A lot of bells and whistles. But, as you can see from my OLD picture, I haven't bought new appliances for almost 20 years (with the exception of dishwashers and microwaves).

So...I guess I'll get up and go cook breakfast!

Roll Tide, Rammer Jammer, Go Big A!

Yeah, I just had to do it! 'Bama Girl auditioned today and made the tuba section in the Million Dollar Band so...Woohoo!

Happy Dance!

Apparently this post will be pictures of me! And I don't do pictures...I'm usually behind the camera. I also don't usually post pictures of food, but we went to Milo's and it was so good, I couldn't resist!

Big bite! I was starving.

I think my carpet situation is resolved. They couldn't get the color in that I ordered, so they upgraded my carpet to a better one at no cost and it should be in Tuesday or Wednesday (not that I'm happy about that, but what can I do?) They are coming back in the morning to finish the wood flooring and I should finish the bathroom wall tile Saturday. And my appliances will be here between 1 and 5 tomorrow (this means I sit here all afternoon waiting!)

And this is the mess I have to wait in!

'Bama Girl just got back home, so I've got to go fix some supper!

Arrrgh...Computer Problems

And telephone troubles! You name it, I've had it! But everything is up and running now. I've really missed being able to blog and read blogs. I'm addicted.

Remodeling is not going much better. My kitchen and bathroom countertops are installed...looks great! And the bathrooms and kitchen tile are in. The wood floors are almost installed. But, I've had a couple of tiles cracked when they were putting in the wood, the tile men broke my toilet, then they ran out of wood and to top it all off, my carpet came in and was the wrong color! So...hopefully, they will finish the wood tomorrow and my carpet will come in Friday. Also my appliances will come in Friday, yes, I finally ordered them...all GE Profile. I'll post pictures as soon as my bed is out of the living room, my dresser is out of the kitchen, and the toilet is out of the bathtub! (I'm not joking!)

David, 'Bama Girl, and I went blackberry picking again. But I think I pushed my luck...SNAKE!
It ran one way and I ran the other. (Thank goodness they didn't have the camera!)

He ate more than he picked!

Thursday, I'll be going to Tuscaloosa to get 'Bama Girl registered in the band. Band camp starts August 10th or 12th and she'll be able to move back into the dorm early for this. I think she's ready to go back...it's boooring around here! Anyway, I think we'll either stop at Milo's in Birmingham or go to Mellow Mushroom in T-town. Yeah, I plan my trips by where I'm going to eat!...doesn't everybody? I only do that because we don't have a Mellow Mushroom or a Milo's! (I guess we do in Huntsville, but I always forget it's there!) Hmmmm, we may have to eat lunch and dinner! Burgers for lunch and pizza for dinner. Could life get any better?

Well, it's getting late and the floor installers will be here early, so I think I'll read a few blogs and be off to bed soon!

Later,

Debbie
