My mother called today and said she'd received the package I'd sent her.
I had started her a quilt long before Christmas, but I knew that we (my brothers, sister and I) were all going in together to get her something for her present. So...I waited until last week to send it to her. Her birthday is in February and the quilt is a Christmas/Birthday/Valentine's present! (Got it all in there didn't I?)
She likes purple. Did you know there's not a lot of purple fabric out there?
I don't like this small picture because it looks blurry and it's not, so...you know the drill...click on it!

eQuilter had an After-Christmas sale and these were what I got. Did you really think the package would be anything other than fabric? Should I seek professional help? I'm not even sure there is help for a fabricholic, so...I'll just have to deal with it.

That's me...all of the above! I just can't seem to get it together this year. Maybe it's the weather. It's too cold. I still have some snow (very little) left on my driveway. It's suppose to warm up to the high 50's this weekend...then rain! At least it might wash the snow away!
I have been working on a quilt. But, it's been kicking my butt! I've had to take it apart several times, ran out of fabric, the borders were wavy...you name it... it's happened to this quilt! And it's not anything complicated...I've done one before and didn't have any trouble!
But last night, I decided that come "heck or high water" it would be quilted today.
This is a picture of it on the frame...it's quilted now and I'll work on cutting and sewing the binding tonight. I'm doing a pieced binding because there's so much white in the quilt.
This is one unhappy little dog. Chance hates the sewing room. He whines to go out and play with Cheddar, but when I let him, he whines to come back inside. So...this is his time out!
If you think I've been good and haven't bought any fabric lately, well...you'd be wrong! I can't seem to pass up polka dots or paisley!
So as you see, not much is going on here...but at least I got the Alabama post down! I don't know when I'll be back. I guess it will be when I have something to talk about!

All the hype about snow fizzled today. We didn't get as much as all the weathermen had forecast. Yeah...what else is new? I'm not unhappy about this, because even though we didn't get much, the temperatures are dropping as I write and what we did get is going to turn icy and make driving dangerous. Roads and overpasses have already been closed. So...stay home! Be safe. Have some hot chocolate. Watch Alabama vs Texas!
(As you can see, we got some...just not the 1-3" we were suppose to.)

Nothing much going on here except the cold weather! And goodness, it's cold!
William came out today...I fed him and washed his clothes (gotta spoil him a little bit!).

I went to the grocery store today and so did everyone else! Had to get bread and milk...it's going to snow and that's what everyone down here does! I don't really know why, but it's just what we do. I guess if all else fails we can have PB&J and a glass of milk...I bought PB&J, too.
Well, gotta go put a load of clothes into the dryer.

We were finally able to fit my birthday dinner in tonight. My son and the girl he's "seeing" came with us.
Oh my gosh! She's cute as a bug and really sweet! She brought me a birthday gift and I love it! Like I said, she's really sweet. I'm so glad he's seeing someone...he's a lot happier!

We went to All Steak in Cullman...a really great place! I had filet mignon and crab cakes! They have the best orange rolls that they send to the table after the meal!
So...I'm happy, full and sleepy! I think I'll go take a long, hot bubble bath and go to bed!
